Angela Kennedy, SLP-D, CCC-SLP, assistant professor and director of clinical education for the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, was elected vice president for education and scientific affairs of the Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

Elected in March, Dr. Kennedy鈥檚 two-year term will begin in January. As a member for TSHA鈥檚 executive board, she will lead the team that coordinates the TSHA鈥檚 annual convention in 2022. Her focus will be on creating diverse educational programming, coordinating professional networking, increasing student involvement and professional course development, she said.

By serving on the executive board, Dr. Kennedy hopes to raise awareness about the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders and 大象传媒 more broadly.

鈥淢y role as the director of clinical education allows me to network with a broad range of speech-language pathologists across the state, which has resulted in some great partnerships and affiliations for us as we鈥檝e grown,鈥 she said.

鈥淭he ability to serve in this position not only helps me with my professional development, but also allows me to use skills outside of the scope of my current position,鈥 she said. 鈥淭SHA has a long legacy of strong leadership and mentorship, so I feel really fortunate to be able to contribute in this way.鈥
