Dental Early Acceptance (3+4) Program Admissions Requirements
A student interested in the field of dentistry is eligible to apply when they have completed between 12 and 30 semester credit hours at a college or university affiliated with the 大象传媒 School of Dentistry's Dental Early Acceptance 3+4 Program (DEAP). See list of affiliated universities below.
Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents and Texas residents. Individuals who have been convicted of a felony will not be granted acceptance except in unusual circumstances.
Applicants will be considered on the basis of:
鈥 Academic achievement
鈥 Standardized test scores
鈥 Community and campus activities
鈥 Socioeconomic history

鈥&苍产蝉辫;&苍产蝉辫;&苍产蝉辫;&苍产蝉辫;贬辞苍辞谤蝉
鈥 Knowledge of the profession
鈥 Letters of recommendations
The DEAP Admissions Committee will focus primarily on students who would have difficulty financing a fourth year of college at the undergraduate level, as well as four years of professional post-baccalaureate education. Those who successfully complete the program can reduce their education costs by eliminating one year of undergraduate college tuition and living expenses.
The DEAP Admissions Committee interviews qualified applicants to ensure that their motivation for dental studies, character and personality traits indicate potential for success in dentistry. The top interviewed applicants are invited to participate in the UT Health School of Dentistry Dental Early Acceptance (3+4) Program (DEAP).
The deadline to submit an application for DEAP is March 8. Interviews will be conducted in April and May.

A DEAP participant is ready to enroll at 大象传媒 School of Dentistry when they have:
鈥 Submitted an application to 大象传媒 School of Dentistry through the Texas Medical and Dental Schools Application Service (TMDSAS) following the 2nd year of undergraduate studies and no later than October 1 of the 3rd year of undergraduate studies.
鈥 Completed predental requirements and the undergraduate institution鈥檚 special three-year curriculum.
鈥 Earned a grade of 鈥淐鈥 or better in dental school prerequisite courses and maintained a cumulative GPA and Science GPA of 3.4 in undergraduate work.
鈥 Scored at least 410 on the Academic Average of the DAT.
鈥 Established a record of ethical and professional behavior during college years and received a positive recommendation from the predental advisory committee of the undergraduate school.
鈥 As the student completes required courses in the School of Dentistry, credit for designated courses will be applied to undergraduate degree requirements as well. Generally, the bachelor鈥檚 degree is awarded by the undergraduate institution when the student has completed the first or second year of dental studies.
For additional information about this program, contact the School of Dentistry at the address below or the Dental Early Acceptance (3+4) Program advisor at the undergraduate school you are interested in attending.
